Exciting launch of the brand
new Sussex Over 50s Show

28th and 29th April, 2012 saw the launch by JP South Events of an amazing, brand new lifestyle show at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne.

Despite the rain over three thousand visitors from as far away as Yorkshire flocked to the East Sussex Over 50s Show.

The show was opened by the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Carolyn Heaps and also visited by Stephen Lloyd, MP for Eastbourne and Willingdon.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday there were live performances on stage including guest appearances from Peter James, the well-known Brighton crime-writer, Fred Dinenage, from Meridian Television and Gill Rutherford, author. Peter entertained the audience with amusing accounts of background research to his writing and afterwards signed copies of his latest book. Fred entertained in his usual inimitable style and Gill's account of her travels in Japan was fascinating. Fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, belly dancing and fitness displays all presented seamlessly by Master of Ceremonies, film and stage actor and director, Jonathan Linsley all added to the buzz at the event.

With over eighty stands covering every aspect of living from food to finance there was plenty for everyone to enjoy and many people stayed for several hours to experience all that was on offer. There was plenty of advice available and a wide range of things to sample and buy including flowers, plants, jewellery, bread, cakes, paintings, clothes, skin care products, wine and much more. Wiltshire Farm Foods, the main sponsor provided an endless supply of delicious food for people to sample and there was also the opportunity to purchase food and refreshments at the in-house café so no-one went away hungry!

Feedback from visitors was incredibly positive with comments such as ‘diverse – lots of different types of stands', ‘we are well-impressed', and ‘ it has been very useful'. Stand holders were also very satisfied with the response and many have already committed to the 2013 show which it is hoped will be double the size and widened to serve cover the whole of Sussex. So make a mental note to watch out for the ‘Sussex Over 50s Show 2013.
